| I joined the Military in 1989 at the age of 17 attending Basic Training at Ft. Jackson SC. After attending Airborne school I was stationed at Ft. Bragg NC in the 82nd Airborne Division where I worked in the Personnel Service Company and deployed in Operation Desert Storm. Upon returning I was reassigned to a maintenance battalion where I was responsible for maintaining and repair of the 82nd Airborne divisions night vision goggles and systems.
Upon my reenlistment in 1993 I went on to become an Air Traffic Controller and remained so for 12 years attaining two Control Tower Operator certificates (CTO) at Mckall Army Airfield and Polk Army airfield, as well as several other facility ratings in flight following facilities. In 2008 I decided to change the pace a little and applied and was accepted to the Civil Affairs qualification course at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.
During my training I was privileged enough to take part in many exciting training opportunities to include language school (Chinese), Advanced Negotiations, Counter Surveillance, and SERE. I spent my final years as a Civil Affairs specialists and completed my service in 2014 at Ft. Bliss in the 3-1 BDE after returning from Afghanistan in my final combat tour.
Since retiring I have found a need to continue to be a part of the military community and to serve the soldiers that I had the privilege of leading for so many years. I chose to do that as a Real Estate Broker in Fayetteville NC which surrounds the Ft. Bragg area, and currently work for Keller Williams Fayetteville. In my spare time I love to hike, hunt and fish and spend time outdoors. I am also an amateur photographer and am married to my wife Laura Hayden.
